The Laboratory

The Science Behind Sorvoya

The Molecule

GHK-Cu — Copper Tripeptide-1

GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring peptide of glycine, histidine, lysine, and a copper ion. First isolated in human plasma in 1973, it has since been the subject of over two hundred published studies on collagen synthesis, antioxidant activity, and skin remodelling. It is the molecule that underpins the most expensive serums on the market. Sorvoya formulates with the same pharmaceutical-grade GHK-Cu, sourced directly from a certified peptide laboratory and verified before release.

The Fabric

22 Momme Mulberry Silk

Momme is the international unit of silk weight. 22 momme — roughly 80 g/m² — is the density of cloth used by luxury hotel groups and the highest-tier sleepwear houses. It is heavy enough to drape with substance, smooth enough to glide against skin and hair, and durable enough to survive years of laundering. Our silk is woven from 100% Grade A mulberry in Suzhou, the historical silk capital of the world.

The Certification

Why OEKO-TEX Matters

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the world's most rigorous textile-safety certification. It tests every component of a fabric — yarn, dye, finish, button — against more than 350 harmful substances, including those not yet regulated. Every Sorvoya silk piece is certified to this standard, meaning it has been independently verified to be free of substances harmful to skin from the first night you sleep on it.

The Process

Our Testing Process

Each batch of Sorvoya product is sampled and submitted to an accredited third-party laboratory before it leaves the production floor. We test for purity, identity, microbial count, and — for textiles — substance-of-concern panels. The resulting Certificate of Analysis (COA) accompanies the batch. Customers may request the COA for the batch that shipped to them at any time.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered honestly.

  • GHK-Cu (copper tripeptide-1) is a naturally occurring peptide composed of glycine, histidine, lysine, and a copper ion. It plays a documented role in supporting collagen synthesis, cellular repair, and skin renewal, and has been studied in clinical literature for decades. It is the active molecule that high-end skincare brands build their most expensive serums around.

  • Most published GHK-Cu studies report visible changes between weeks four and twelve of daily, consistent use. Skin texture and tone tend to respond first; firmness and density take longer. Results vary by skin type, age, climate, and consistency of application.

  • Momme is the standard measure of silk weight — the heavier the momme, the denser and more durable the silk. 22 momme is the weight luxury hotel groups and premium bedding houses use worldwide: heavy enough to drape with substance, fine enough to glide against skin and hair without friction. Below 19 momme, the fabric is too thin; above 25, it loses softness.

  • Yes. We work directly with the certified laboratories that formulate our peptide serums and with the Suzhou mills that weave our silk. No distributors, no retail middleman, no licensing chain. The same suppliers serve the world's most expensive beauty and bedding brands — we simply removed the markup.

  • Our peptide serums are formulated and filled at our verified laboratory partner, with each batch released only after independent third-party Certificate of Analysis. Our silk is woven in Suzhou, China — the silk capital of the world — under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, the strictest global standard for textile safety.
